Problems solved by technology

Unfortunately, the turbulence created by this squeeze, especially the negative pressure created when the squeeze is released, is not sufficient and thus not comparable to the negative pressure of the Ellik aspirator
Also, there is often fluid leakage at the container and lid junction
Additionally, while this patented technology prevents re-entry of particulate tissue into the body cavity, it does not have an easily transferable tissue collection mechanism and thus suffers from the same limitations as the Ellik aspirator in that tissue collected by the device must be manually filtered at the end of the flush and remove them from the slot
During this procedure, tissue is sometimes lost on the table and floor, so there is a significant risk of contact with blood and tissue by operating room staff using this method

Embodiment Construction

[0031] The present invention provides a system and method for flushing and collecting tissue in a patient's body cavity. The system includes an irrigation and collection device that sprays irrigation fluid into a body cavity. Irrigation devices eject irrigation fluid from the device into a body cavity by creating a positive pressure within the device. The irrigation fluid and any loose tissue or particulate matter are drawn into the device by causing the irrigation fluid to be expelled from the body cavity by negative pressure created within the device. Filter the flushing fluid to collect expelled tissue and particulate matter into a collector.

[0032] This process is repeated, and the positive pressure created within the device ejects irrigation fluid from the device into the body cavity. When irrigating fluid is sprayed, previously collected tissue and particulate matter remains within the collector so that it does not re-enter the body cavity with the sprayed irrigating...

Abstract

The present invention provides a system (10) for medical irrigating and collecting capable of introducing liquid into or extracting liquid out of a body cavity in a patient. The system (10) includes acontainer (12) with inner part accomodating the liquid; a pumper ball (14) communicating with liquid in the container (12) which can be firmly connected with any method other than pure friction; a first end connected into a liquid pipe, a second end connected into a pipe (20) communicative to the liquid in the container (12); and a collector (22, 42) for collecting granular materials. The collector (22) has a plurality of holes allowing passing of liquid and granular materials with preset size, and the collectors are connected removably.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system for flushing and draining, collecting tissue and its method for use in therapeutic procedures. Background technique [0002] Many medical procedures involve flushing body cavities. For example, the bladder must be flushed during many endoscopic urological procedures to flush away (and in some cases collect) blood clots, tissue fragments, and the like. The usual method is to introduce a sterile saline solution or water into the bladder and then withdraw the fluid containing the mixed and suspended material to be removed. This process needs to be repeated until the withdrawn fluid is clear and satisfactorily free of particulate matter. [0003] Currently, the most common device used for bladder irrigation is the Ellik aspirator, which consists of a clear hourglass-shaped bowl with a rubber bulb and nozzle mounted to the upper bowl that circulates solution through the urethra and bladder. The rubber ball is opa...
