Problems solved by technology

In addition, the positioning of the cams (known to be spaced apart from each other) and the positioning of the motor make the overall size of the entire machine particularly large
[0016]Another disadvantage is the shape of the rotating shaft associated with the control cam and driven in rotation by the motor

Embodiment Construction

[0030] Referring to the drawings, numeral 1 designates throughout the text a flat knitting machine according to the present invention.

[0031] In particular, the invention can be advantageously applied to Raschel flat knitting machines with single or double needle beds.

[0032] The knitting machine 1 comprises a first needle bed 2 and a second needle bed 3 extending longitudinally along said knitting machine 1 (Fig. 1). Each needle bed 2 , 3 is provided with a support bed 4 which is formed along the longitudinal dimension of the knitting machine 1 and which respectively accommodates a row of knitting needles 5 .

[0033] Advantageously, each needle bed 2, 3 may also be provided with a plurality of latches 6 for the needles 5, often called "combined" needles, these are known and are therefore not described in detail in this disclosure .

[0034] Latch 6 works synchronously with needles 5 and is supported by a corresponding support bed 7 arranged in each needle bed 2 , 3 . ...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a linear knitting machine comprising: a first ( 2 ) and a second ( 3 ) needle-bed, each one having at least one bar ( 4 ) extending longitudinally along said machine, and at least one row of needles ( 5 ) supported by the bar ( 4 ); a plurality of thread-guides ( 10 ) for arranging at least one respective thread into the needles ( 5 ); a motor ( 11 ) for moving at least one bar ( 4 ) of every needle-bed ( 2, 3 ) with a forward and backward motion getting away from / towards the thread-guides ( 10 ); and motion transmission means ( 12 ) associated to the bar ( 4 ) of every needle-bed ( 2, 3 ) and having at least one rotating element ( 14 ) for every needle-bed ( 2, 3 ) associated to the motor ( 11 ), and a rod ( 13 ) for every needle-bed ( 2, 3 ) having a first end ( 13 a) stiffly engaged to said bar ( 4 ) and a second end ( 13 b), opposed to the first one ( 13 a), operatively associated to said rotating element ( 14 ) which is provided with at least one cam guide ( 16 ).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to flat knitting machines. In particular, the present invention relates to raschel, tricot or similar flat knitting machines with single or double needle beds, also commonly known as raschel machines and used for the manufacture of knitwear. Background technique [0002] Known Raschel flat knitting machines with double needle beds are provided with two rows of needles, each row being accommodated in a corresponding needle bed and supported by a corresponding support bed. Each needle bed also has a series of latches that can be connected to the needles for so-called "compound" systems, and a series of "stitch-combs" Prevents coils from being brought up when removing coils and getting new yarn. The series of latches and loop combs are also supported by corresponding support beds which extend parallel to the needle support beds and longitudinally along the entire machine. [0003] The needle support bed, the latch support ...
