Embodiment Construction

[0046] The refrigerator according to the first embodiment includes an ice duct opening and closing mechanism 13 that opens and closes the ice duct 12 according to a user's operation. As shown in FIG. 4, the ice duct opening and closing mechanism 13 includes a funnel 51 fastened to the freezer door 4 by a fastening member such as a screw or the like. This mount 51 rotatably supports an operating lever 62 and a rotating shaft 70 of an opening and closing mechanism 60 which will be described below. Also, the mount 51 prevents ice cubes passing through the ice duct 12 from spattering into the side or front of the dispenser. A duct portion 52 is formed below the ice duct 12 to communicate with a lower portion of the ice duct 12 .

[0047] The mounting member 51 has a micro switch 100 mounted thereon, and the micro switch 100 is switched by the operating lever 62 of the opening and closing mechanism 60 . Preferably, the microswitch 100 is mounted adjacent to the pipe section 52 . ...

Abstract

A refrigerator includes an ice dispenser with a duct cap (58) for opening and closing an ice duct (12) of the dispenser. A user operated lever (62) is operably coupled to both the duct cap (58), and a joint member (76). A frictional member (80) is disposed to come in frictional contact with the joint member (76) as the duct cap (58) moves between open and closed position. An elastic member (90) elastically supports the joint member with respect to the lever. The closing operation of the duct cap is delayed by using a frictional force developed between the joint member and the frictional member.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a refrigerator having an ice dispenser, and more particularly to an ice dispenser having a friction-type time delay mechanism to delay the closing operation of the ice duct of the dispenser. Background technique [0002] Typically, refrigerators are used to keep freezers and / or refrigerators at low temperatures. Typically, a refrigerator uses a refrigeration cycle including a compressor, a condenser, an expander, and an evaporator. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a typical refrigerator with the freezer and refrigerator compartments opened. As shown in FIG. 1 , the refrigerator includes a main body 2 having a freezer compartment F and a refrigerator compartment R separated by a partition 1 . The refrigerating cycle keeps the freezer compartment F and the refrigerator compartment R at a low temperature. A freezing compartment door 4 is connected to the main body 2 to open and close the freezing compartment F; and a ref...
