Abstract

In an authentication apparatus and an authentication method for nodes in a wireless mesh network, an authentication server performs an initial authentication process for a new node entering the wireless mesh network, and a hop-by-hop authentication process between the new node and an adjacent node is performed between the new and adjacent nodes, based upon authentication information provided from the server.
