Problems solved by technology

If the ice cubes in the ice storage unit are blocked, the removal action is prevented, especially in the case of automatic removal, which leads to a high mechanical load on the moving parts and thus to a considerable wear of these parts

Embodiment Construction

[0028] 1 shows in a sectional view an automatic ice maker 12 with a storage device 1 according to the invention, with the outlet opening 7 open, water ice cubes 2 produced by means of an ice maker 16 and supplied to the receiving chamber 3 . The ice cubes 2 are frozen in the receiving chamber 3 by means of cold air 9 . The drive 10 drives the stirrer 4 with the stirring unit 13 , while the ice cubes 2 are loosened by moving back and forth without the ice cubes being transported in one or the other direction. The rotation of the stirrer only raises and then lowers the ice cube 2. The stirring unit 13 is constituted by a rod 14 bent in a zigzag shape in one plane. The stirrer 4 rotates about a substantially horizontal axis 6 and is placed in close proximity to the discharge opening 7 . The receiving chamber 3 has a sloped bottom so that the ice cubes 2 slide towards the outlet opening 7 . The inclined bottom 5 or correspondingly inclined surface 11 conveys the ice cubes 2 to ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a storing device (1) for chunks (2) of (water) ice, comprising a receiving compartment (3) for the ice chunks (2) with a bottom (5), and at least one mobile stirrer (4) for the ice chunks (2) which is especially rotatable about an axis (6). The stirrer (4) is located in the receiving compartment (3) and the stirrer always returns to its initial position. The invention also relates to an automatic ice maker comprising the inventive storing device and to a method for providing ice chunks (2). The invention is characterized in that the stirrer (4) effectively loosens up the ice chunks (2) in an easy manner, thereby counteracting clogging, and substantially increasing the reliability of operation of the storing device or the automatic ice maker.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a storage device for ice cubes, in particular water ice cubes, having a receiving chamber for receiving ice cubes, the receiving chamber having a bottom, and at least one mobile stirrer for ice cubes, wherein the The stirrer is especially rotatable around the axis, the stirrer is arranged in the receiving chamber; and also relates to an automatic ice maker and a method for preparing ice cubes. Background technique [0002] As is well known, household freezers and household freezer-refrigerators are equipped with automatic ice makers to make ice cubes with a weight of about 13g to 20g. The ice maker should have the maximum possible ice production rate, which is very important for the reliable operation of the ice maker and the absence of failure. In particular, blockage of ice should be avoided, since blocked ice can lead to incomplete functioning of the ice maker. [0003] Usually such devices have an ice storage unit and an ...
