Abstract

The present invention discloses three negotiation methods of a compression algorithm in the separation structure of control plane and user plane. In the first method, a user terminal sends compression algorithm processing information to a user plane network element; according to the owned compression algorithm processing information and the compression algorithm processing information of the user terminal, the user plane network element obtains the compression algorithm by negotiation, and the compression algorithm is then sent to a control plane network element and the user terminal. In the second method, the user terminal and the user plane network element respectively send respective compression algorithm processing information to the control plane network element, the control plane network element obtains the compression algorithm by negotiation, and the compression algorithm is respectively sent to the user terminal and the user plane network element.
