Abstract

Plunge milling tools (100, 200) for providing deep holes (DH1, DH2) with long circular cross sections (20, 40) comprise: slender support components (106; 206) with front parts (102; 202) and a rear part (204); at least one pair of guide components (130, 132; 230, 232) which are transversely arranged on the slender support component and suitable for applying pressure to the relatively semi-cylindrical surfaces (11, 12) of two off-center depth holes so as to steady the front part of the slender support component. The tool comprises at least one milling cutter (110; 210, 211) mounted to be rotary at the front end of the slender support component; and transmission mechanisms (112, 114, 120, 213, 215, 223) for transmitting the power to the front part from the rear part and driving the milling cutter. The milling cutter is configured to remove rest materials (A1, A2, A3; A4, A5) between two relatively semi-cylindrical surfaces (11, 12) of two off-center depth holes so as to gradually form passages (20, 40) with long circular cross section along the length direction of the deep hole during the period of plunge milling.
