Problems solved by technology

Although this algorithm has a wider range of motion search and more accurate estimation, it is very time-consuming.
In panoramic video, the resolution of the image is very large, and most of the encoding time is spent on motion estimation. If the time of motion estimation cannot be accelerated, many applications of panoramic video will be limited.

Embodiment Construction

[0023] Below in conjunction with accompanying drawing and specific embodiment the present invention is described in further detail:

[0024] Such as image 3 As shown, it is an operation flowchart of a fast motion search method oriented to panoramic video in the present invention. The operation steps of this method include:

[0025] In step 10, the current frame is first divided into non-overlapping 16×16 blocks, and then divided into 8×16, 16×8, and 8×8 blocks in turn

[0026] Step 20. In this step, a fast motion estimation method called diamond search method is used. The diamond search method uses two search templates, namely a large template with 9 detection points and a small template with 5 detection points. The large template is used at the beginning of the search, and the small template is used when the optimal point is at the center point.

[0027] Step 30, if the luminance residual and the chrominance residual of the current block satisfy the following conditions a...

Abstract

The invention discloses a fast motion search method aiming at the panorama video, which comprises the following steps that (1) each frame of panorama video is divided into blocks which do not overlap, the sizes of the blocks is16*16,16*8, 8*16 and 8*8; (2) initial motion search is implemented on the present block; (3) the present block is determined whether to be the inter-frame coding block with zero-motion vector; (4) as for the blocks with the sizes more than 8*8, a threshold method is used for determining whether the blocks need to be divided into ones with sizes less than 8*8. The invention has the advantages that a fast motion search method which is suitable to code the panorama video is designed aiming at the features of panorama video; compared with the traditional motion search method, the invention can save more calculation time, and at the same time, the panorama decoding efficiency can be maintained.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to image and video compression technology, in particular to a fast motion search method for panoramic video. Background technique [0002] Panoramic video is also called immersive video. The view point of the observer cannot be changed arbitrarily, and all surrounding scenes can be observed by changing the observation direction. Ordinary two-dimensional video only reflects a certain part of the omnidirectional video, which is difficult to make people feel immersive. Using panoramic video can establish a virtual environment for users to observe. Users can interactively understand the environment from different observation points and directions by roaming in it. A schematic diagram of a panoramic video camera such as figure 1 As shown in , the scenes around the same viewpoint are collected and processed by multiple cameras. A 2D scene from any viewpoint can be rendered from these acquired images. Panoramic video can be applied ...
