Benefits of technology

This technology allows two different types of networks (SDH) together with an equal number of devices called converters or hubs. These convercers allow both data streams to pass through simultaneously without interfering each other's signals. They also have their own unique features like virtual connections between them, which makes it possible to combine these capabilities into one device while still being able to handle all three modes of communication. Overall this innovation improves efficiency and flexibility in delivering new services over existing telecommunications infrastructure.

Problems solved by technology

This patented describes how inefficiently utilizing available bandwidth between different types of devices like routers and switches may be achieved by combining multiple protocols into one stream called Multiplexed Transport Platform (MTSP). However this approach cannot handle all kinds of traffic that require both synchronized digital hierarchy (SDH)-mandelic service support at once due to its lacking convergence functions from Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), which are used over legacy telecommunications systems.

specific Embodiment

[0030] Specific examples, such as figure 2 Shown:

[0031] The dual-bus system adopts SDH bus and Ethernet bus, and exchanges various control signals and data through the backplane multi-point LVDS bus.

[0032] The SDH bus provides 3 sets of LVDS buses, 1 set between the SDH convergence board and 2 sets between the convergence board and the tributary board to realize the access and convergence of traditional SDH services and uplink to the existing MSTP transmission network in the MAN.

[0033] The Ethernet bus provides 2 sets of LVDS buses, one set between the 2 Ethernet aggregation boards and the Ethernet tributary board, to realize the aggregation of Ethernet services (n×FE—GE), and directly connect the Ethernet services to the Aggregation layer switch or multi-service router of metropolitan area network.

[0034] At the same time, the backplane also provides LVDS clock tree and SDH timing signal. MIIM bus and 485 bus are also provided, the communication coprocessor com...

Abstract

The invention discloses a double-bus system for realizing the SDH convergence and the Ethernet convergence, which comprises an SDH convergence unit, an Ethernet convergence unit, a multi-service branch unit, a clock unit, a network management unit and a power unit and the like. The backboard of the system adopts the double-bus design of an SDH bus and an Ethernet bus, exchanges various control signals and data through a multi-point LVDS bus, and can simultaneously realize the SDH convergence and the Ethernet convergence in order to provide the access, the convergence, the exchange and the management functions of the TDM service and the wideband data service in a more flexible mode. The system has large convergence capacity, and flexible configuration, rich interfaces, high reliability and strong expansibility, and can effectively save the service ports of convergence nodes, reduce network cost and increase the network performance.
