The invention relates to a sunshade device for an automobile, wherein a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod which stretch or shrink a first arm unit and a second arm unit which are combined with a sunshade rod are actuated by a first rack and a second rack; the first rack and the second rack are meshed with a first driving pinion and a second driving pinion which are driven by a motor and perform rectilinear movement in opposite directions; further more, a torsional spring is matched above a corresponding pivot which combines upper arm members of the first arm unit and the secondarm unit to the sunshade rod, so that the torsional spring can accelerate stretch of various upper arm members. The torsional arm can be easily assembled into the device, does not generate vibration or noise, and has light weight, so that the power required for moving the sunshade rod up and down is reduced. Therefore, the invention realizes miniaturization of driving units and light weight of the sunshade device.
