Embodiment Construction

[0030] In devices that control the lateral deflection of sheets of material, such as Figure 1A and 1B As shown, at least one orientation feature may be used to determine lateral offset of the sheet of material relative to a predetermined position. The at least one orientation feature may for example be a line or a pattern on the sheet of material. This orientation feature may proceed in the direction of travel of the sheet of material and may be located near an edge of the sheet of material or may be the edge itself. The sensor element in this case may be a photosensor, such as a color sensor or a camera.

[0031] Figure 2A A sheet of material with lines as orientation features is illustrated. exist Figure 2A In a) of a), the line 210 on the sheet of material 200 is being sampled in the sensor area 220 . Figure 2A Solid lines are shown in a) and c) in stable and "cluttered" backgrounds, respectively. exist Figure 2A Dashed lines can be seen in b) and d) in stable a...

Abstract

The device has a sensor element i.e. complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) matrix sensor, for registering a sensor zone (308) on material webs (300, 300', 300''). The material webs operate on a predetermined material web level in a predetermined travel direction. A light transmitter (330) i.e. laser, produces light beam spots (334, 334', 335, 335') on the material webs, where the device determines a position of a deviating material web level that deviates from the predetermined material web level based on the light beam spots. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a material web orientation feature detecting method (2) a material web orientation feature detecting system comprising a roller subsystem.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to apparatus and processes for detecting oriented features on a material web. Background technique [0002] During the handling and handling of sheet material, sheet guidance control is used. For example, sheets of material may be fed into a machine, processed and then rewound through winding equipment, so various positioning errors may occur. For example, to guide the lateral deflection of the material sheet, suitable control devices can be used. [0003] Figure 1A with Figure 1B An adjustment apparatus is shown in which a sheet of material 100 of width B undergoes four turns of 90 degrees each, assisted by a turning frame system. The sheet of material is deflected by a feed roller 101 and a feed length Li is fed into a pivoting frame 105 by two guide rollers 102 , 103 . Lateral adjustment of the sheet of material can be achieved by pivoting the frame 105 . The sheet of material is then pivoted at pivot p...
