[0021] In addition, the above drawings are only schematic diagrams and are not drawn to scale. In particular, some dimensions may be exaggerated or minimized for clarity. Corresponding parts are denoted by the same reference numerals in the figures.

[0022] figure 1 The portion pack shown in includes a tub-like container 10 of generally oval cross-section, manufactured for example by thermoforming, in particular by vacuum forming, from a suitable plastic such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The walls of the container are relatively thin and enclose a hollow product space for receiving the product therein. A wall 12 extends upwards and all around from the container base 11 and terminates in an upper edge 13 . Adhered to the upper edge 13 is a thin foil 14 which hermetically seals the product space in the container. A commonly used foil 13 is aluminum foil or optionally a metal-coated plastic foil, such as polypropylene or polyethylene. If desired, a tab (not shown) can ...

Abstract

A portion package for an at least substantially form-retaining product, such as a jelly, gel or paste in particular, comprises a compressible tub-like container (10) with a base (11) from which a wall (12) extends all round, which wall extends as far as an upper edge (13). Adhered to the upper edge is a foil (14) which closes a product space in the container. The wall of the container comprises a deforming zone (15) which extends on both sides of the product space between the base (11) and the upper edge (13) over at least a part of a height of the wall (12), and runs continuously between the sides through the base (11) of the container.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a portion package for semi-fluid products, in particular such as jellies, gels or pastes, comprising a compressible tub-like container with a base, the walls of which are formed from The base extends all around and up to the upper edge, to which a foil adhered closes the product space of the container. Background technique [0002] Portion packages of the type mentioned in the preamble are known from the applicant's European patent application EP 880 455 . The portion packs described therein comprise suitable plastic or aluminum tub-like containers with upright walls enclosing the product space. A transverse concertina is arranged in the wall, whereby the container as a whole is compressible in height. A pouring spout is formed on the upper edge of the upright wall, like the rest of the top side of the container, covered by an aluminum foil adhered to the upper edge around the product space, thereby hermetically seali...
