Abstract

The present invention relates to a scroll compressor capable of favorably separating oil from refrigerant gas which is compressed by a scroll compression element and guided from a communication passage to a motor element side. The scroll compressor 1 has, in a sealed container 2, the scroll compression element 10, the motor element 20 for driving the scroll compression element 10, and a bearing 30 for pivotally supporting a rotary shaft 22 of the motor element 20, and has a support frame 28 having a communication passage 34. The scroll compressor comprises a shield plate 54 which extends from the support frame 28 to the motor element 20 side and surrounds the periphery of the bearing 30, and an oil receiver 36 erected around an end on the support frame 28 side of the motor element 20. The tip of the shield plate 54 overlaps the tip of the oil receiver 36 in a non-contact manner, and a discharge pipe 50 is made to communicate with the inner side of the shield plate 54.
