Embodiment Construction

[0030] will now refer to Figures 2 to 5D Exemplary embodiments of the present invention are described.

[0031] When an information client interacts with the information system very frequently, it may be feasible to distribute the message received from the client and its subsequent processing among the available information servers. However, there may be applications where, for example, information to be delivered, or more generally used to process a client's request, is preferably kept in a centralized memory. The centralized storage, which can be realized by several cooperative databases, can be used as a master data repository where data is updated from the management / configuration system; thus also enabling the utilization of reliability and cost-efficiency features. Furthermore, depending on the application using the information system, requests from information clients can go through different communication protocols, such as: Hypertext Transfer Protocol HTTP, Session...

Abstract

Method, apparatuses and computer programs for handling the storage of data. A first information server (120) receives a message (M1, M4) comprising a first identifier and sends a response (M2, M5) comprising a second identifier which identifies a second information server (162) handling data stored in relationship with the first identifier. If there is not a second identifier related to the first identifier, the first server sends a message (MR) requesting to store in a second server data in relationship with the first identifier. The first server then stores an identifier of the second server attending the request as the second identifier related to said first identifier. Accordingly, the relationships between a plurality of first and corresponding second identifiers can become auto-configured in the first server.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to information systems, and more precisely to methods and devices for handling data storage in these systems. Background technique [0002] The latest information systems include information servers, usually implemented by computer-based machines that provide data storage and business logic for processing such data. Clients of the system (machines with or without human user's intervention) interact with these servers to eg obtain, set, modify etc. these data or also request / cause further actions based on them. [0003] The nature of the data held by an information system depends largely on the kind of application using the system, or in other words, the intended use of the system. The business logic in the information server includes processing rules for storing, retrieving or modifying etc. these data or also for taking further actions based on them. Today, information systems are widely used for a variety of purposes, ...
