The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a conversion list from a DNS control server and storing the conversion list when an IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack host initiates IPv4 information source domain name inquiry, and storing the corresponding relation of an IPv4 information source domain name to be converted and an IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack proxy server in the conversion list; searching the IPv6 address of the IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack proxy server which corresponds to the IPv4 information source domain name to be inquired, taking the address as the IPv6 address of an IPv4 information source, and initiating the request for acquiring the IPv4 information source by the IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack host to the IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack proxy server; acquiring the information from the IPv4 information source by the IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack proxy server, and returning an IP flow to the IPv4 / IPv6 dual stack host through an IPv6 network.
