Abstract

A lubricating oil for non-stage transmissions characterized by comprising a base oil comprising a combination of a synthetic oil (I) having (a) a coefficient of traction at 120 DEG C of at least 115% of that of 2,4-dicyclohexyl-2-methylpentane, (b) a viscosity at -40 DEG C not higher than that of 2,4-dicyclohexyl-2-methylpentane (260 Pa s), and (c) a viscosity index of 65 or higher and a synthetic oil (II) having a viscosity at -40 DEG C of 1 Pa s or lower. It is further characterized in that the base oil satisfies specific properties. The lubricating oil for non-stage transmissions has a high coefficient of traction even at high temperatures and has satisfactory low-temperature flowability. It is hence suitable for use as a lubricating oil for non-stage transmissions for motor vehicles.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a lubricating oil for continuously variable transmissions, and more specifically, to a lubricating oil suitable for continuously variable transmissions for vehicles that has a high traction coefficient (traction coefficient) even at high temperatures and has good low-temperature fluidity Lubricating oil for continuously variable transmissions. Background technique [0002] Continuously variable transmission (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "CVT"), especially CVT for vehicles, is used in order to achieve sufficient power transmission due to severe operating conditions such as large torque transmission capacity and large temperature fluctuations. Lubricant for continuously variable transmissions It is required to have a high traction coefficient in the operating temperature range. Therefore, since the traction coefficient of lubricating oil generally decreases with the increase of oil temperature, the lowest value o...
