Abstract

The embedded equipment comprises a storage module, a downloading module and a guidance loading module, wherein, the storage module comprises a current operating firmware storage area and a firmware mapping file storage area; the downloading module is used for downloading the firmware mapping file of which the downloading edition is superior to that of the current operating firmware, and storing the firmware mapping file into the firmware mapping file storage area; and the guidance loading module is used for loading and calling the firmware mapping file. The embedded equipment and the on-line updating system and the method of the firmware in the embedded equipment of the invention are characterized in that by adopting the method, the firmware mapping file is downloaded from a server via a network and stored into the corresponding storage area; and after the system is restarted, the firmware mapping file is guided to load. Compared with the prior art, the invention simplifies the firmware updating steps, improves updating speed and success rate, lowers updating cost and prolongs the service life of the embedded equipment.
