The method comprises the steps of: sending a synchronization request to a client terminal by an EPG; requesting the ID of the newest index file to an index server by the client terminal; returning the ID of the index file and a node list to the client terminal by the server; requesting data to other nodes by the client terminal, and downloading the index file; analyzing the index file by the client terminal, and requesting data to other nodes and downloading the file; and informing the EPG after the downloading of the client terminal. In the invention, the synchronization of the file and a catalogue is completed by the index file, the number of the files serving for other nodes is controlled by the index file, the synchronization speed is accelerated by a P2P (peer to peer) technology, the load of the server is recued, and the single-point fault is reduced.
