Abstract

The invention provides a method and switching equipment for realizing an Ethernet double loop based on the conventional Ethernet automatic protection switching (EAPS) technology. When a line is normal, a main line and a standby line which back up each other are connected between any two adjacent nodes; only the main line is used for data forwarding; when the line is normal, two data virtual local area networks (VLAN) in the main node are ports in a blocked state which form a blocked port set; when a single line fault occurs between any two adjacent nodes, the two adjacent nodes are directly used for switching the main line and the standby line; when a double-line fault occurs between any two adjacent nodes, the port of a connection fault line is blocked by the two adjacent nodes respectively, a fault refreshing message is transmitted to the Ethernet loop, and then a forwarding table of the port of the connection fault line is refreshed; and if the node is a transmission node, a fault message is also transmitted to the main node while the fault refreshing message is transmitted to the Ethernet loop.
