Abstract

An apparatus for transmitting digital signal data in 8-Vestigial Sideband (8-VSB) signal format received by a Mobile / Handheld (M / H) receiver is described. The apparatus for transmitting digital data includes: an MHE header generator including additional information about at least part of the digital data; and a packet formatter which sets the MHE header in the MHE packet.
