Embodiment Construction

[0016] While the invention is capable of embodiments in many different forms, there are shown in the drawings and there will be described in detail preferred embodiments of the invention, it being understood that the disclosure is considered as exemplary of the principles of the invention and that It is not intended to limit the broad aspects of the invention to the embodiments shown.

[0017] figure 1 A fuel dispensing system 10 such as that used at a conventional gasoline retail station is shown. The fuel distribution system 10 generally includes a plurality of fuel dispensers 12 (only one shown) for dispensing fuel from the UST 20, each fuel dispenser having two dispensing points 14 (i.e., two assemblies, each comprising conventional hose 16 and nozzle 18). The UST 20 is filled with fuel through a fuel tube 31 which introduces fuel into the lower portion of the UST 20 through a tube end 33 . The UST 20 includes a conventional fuel level sensor 22 that measures the level ...

Abstract

A system and method for detecting a leak in a Stage II vapor recovery system is disclosed. The system may monitor the Stage II vapor recovery system for the occurrence of quiet times and record pressure data during those quiet times. The system may make a determination of a leak based on the evaluation of the pressure data from a plurality of the quiet times.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61 / 056,528, filed May 28, 2008, the entire disclosure of which is hereby expressly incorporated by reference. [0003] This application is related to US Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61 / 056,522, filed May 28, 2008, the entire disclosure of which is hereby expressly incorporated by reference. technical field [0004] The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for detecting steam leaks in a second stage steam recovery system. Background technique [0005] Vapors in the vehicle's fuel tank have historically escaped into the atmosphere as fuel was dispensed into the vehicle's fuel tank, typically from an underground storage tank (UST). To prevent this from happening, a second stage vapor recovery system was developed to capture this vapor and return it to the UST. [0006] The second stage vapor recovery system recovers fuel vapors rel...
