The invention discloses a method for relieving the delayed coagulation of methyl cellulose (MC) on silicate cement in the production process of external wall panels effectively, which comprises the step of: adding chrysotile in an amount which is 2 to 10 weight percent based on the used amount of cement into the cement so as to accelerate the coagulation and solidification of the cement. In the method, by adding the chrysotile (preference for sepiolite fibers) in an amount which is 2 to 10 weight percent based on the used amount of the cement into the cement, the delayed coagulation of the MC can be relieved effectively, and the strength of products is improved simultaneously. When the used amount of the MC is 1 weight percent based on the amount the silicate cement, the initial setting time of the cement is over 6 hours, and after the chrysotile is added, the initial setting time of the cement can be controlled within 3 hours.
