Problems solved by technology

[0006] On the other hand, these flexible hinges are made by specialist manufacturers, which generally do not meet the requirements of eyeglass manufacturers, because their manufacturing techniques are different from those typically used to obtain a good fit for holding the lenses. Frame manufacturing techniques vary widely

Embodiment Construction

[0037] It is known that spectacles comprise a front frame or front piece 1 on which a pair of lenses F are arranged and on the side sections of the front frame or front piece 1 a supporting temple bar U is hinged.

[0038] Figure 1-3 Only a part of the front frame is shown with one of the two lenses, it being understood that the other part is completely symmetrical.

[0039] The lens F is engaged with a housing portion G of the front piece which holds the lens F in a fixed position. The jacket portion G only partially surrounds the periphery of the lens and leaves a significant portion of the lens unconstrained, for example at least 30%.

[0040] exist figure 1 In , this shell part G is the top part of the frame, but could in the same way be the lower part of the frame.

[0041] For greater stability, the lens F has a peripheral groove I coupled with a rib E located on the housing part G.

[0042] The system is completed by a restraint device consisting of a substantially...

Abstract

An elastic constraint system for a pair of eyeglasses is disclosed. The system comprises at least one inextensible flexible wire provided with two wire terminals to be engaged with two distinct portions of an eyeglasses front frame or temple bars, at least one of said wire terminals being provided with elastic means mounted preloaded and acting in opposition to a tensioning of said inextensible flexible wire.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an elastic restraint system for an assembly of eyeglasses, and eyeglasses specifically conceived utilizing this restraint system for said assembly to the greatest extent. Background technique [0002] Known in the field of spectacles, a large number of restraints have been proposed to assemble together the main support structure of spectacles, namely the frame or front piece, the side temple bars and the lenses. [0003] In general, the restraints for the assembly are shaped as rigid members, interconnected and articulated by means of screws, joints or other connecting means which allow the various parts to be assembled and which also introduce elasticity , which improves the wearability of the glasses and makes the glasses more comfortable to use. In particular, so-called flexible hinges are known, which are adapted to elastically hinge the temple bars to the front frame. Also, various systems are known for locking t...
