The embodiment of the invention discloses a method for realizing a special water wave rippling effect, comprising the following steps of: obtaining a wave source point and determining a rippling region on a water surface of a current frame region according to the wave source point and a pre-set ripping degree; calculating a wave amplitude value of each pixel position in the rippling region on the water surface of the current frame region according to a first pre-set formula; determining a pixel offset according to the wave amplitude value of each pixel position in the current frame region; and copying each pixel in an image of the last frame into the corresponding pixel position in the current frame region according to the pixel offset, so as to obtain the image of the current frame. The embodiment of the invention further discloses a device for realizing the special water wave rippling effect.
