Abstract

An apparatus for displaying road guidance information on a windshield that enables a driver to accurately recognize a road associated with a destination route by overlaying road guide information of a navigation system on the actual road based on an eye location of a driver by displaying mapped results on a windshield of a vehicle in variable location, and a method thereof are provided. The apparatus comprises a navigation association apparatus that obtains the guiding information on the road toward the destination set by the driver, a front image recognition apparatus which recognizes the driving path from the front road image, an eye position detecting apparatus which detects the eye position from the face image of the driver, a control apparatus that controls the windshield display apparatus for mapping road guiding information upon the windshield based on the eye position of the driver detected by the eye position detecting apparatus, thus to cover upon the real road and display the mapping result, and a windshield display apparatus that maps the road guiding information under the control of the control apparatus, thus to cover upon the real road and display the mapping result.
