Embodiment Construction

[0034] figure 1 Shown is part of a high-lift system on a wing 2 of an aircraft, said high-lift system comprising lift flaps 4 arranged on the wing 2, in order to increase the lift, as shown as an example, the lift flaps 4 is movable relative to the wing 2 from a retracted position 6 to an extended position 8 . In the retracted position 6, the lift flaps 4 complement the wing 2 to form a smooth profile designed for cruising flight. In the extended position 8 , the effective surface of the wing 2 is supplemented by the lift flap 4 , wherein, at the same time, a gap 10 extending between the downstream surface 12 of the lift flap 4 and the wing leading edge 14 is formed.

[0035] It will be appreciated that the lift flaps 4 may preferably adopt several different extended positions 8 so that the effect of the high lift system can be varied if necessary.

[0036] The lift flap 4 comprises a region 16 of variable curvature. In the extended position 8, the lift flap 4 comprises a f...

Abstract

The invention relates to a high-lift system for an aircraft, comprising a lift flap (4) disposed on an airfoil (2), said lift flap being coupled to the airfoil (2) and designed to be displaceable relative to the airfoil (2) between a retracted position and at least one extended position relative to the airfoil (2). The lift flap (4) contacts the airfoil (2) in the retracted position and forms an air gap to the airfoil (2) in the extended position. The lift flap (4) comprises at least one region (16) aligned to the rear edge thereof, having a variable curvature extending toward the airfoil (2) in an extended position of the lift flap (4). A gap can thereby be formed to the airfoil, wherein said gap aerodynamically sufficiently tapers off in the downstream direction, thereby increasing the efficiency of the high-lift system, while no limitations occur during cruising flight.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61 / 267,267, filed December 7, 2009, and German Patent Application No. 10 2009057340.2, filed December 7, 2009, the disclosures of which are adopted by incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0003] The invention relates to a high lift system for an aircraft comprising at least one lift flap arranged on a wing and at least one lift flap for moving the lift flap relative to the wing between a retracted position and at least one extended position A flap adjustment mechanism. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for moving lift flaps and an aircraft having at least one high-lift system as described above. Background technique [0004] From the requirement of the highest possible cruising speed and at the same time the lowest possible take-off and landing speeds, a need arises in modern commercial aircraft for high-lift syste...
