Abstract

The invention provides USB (universal serial bus) equipment drive method and system, relating to the computer technology. A USB equipment drive method comprises the following steps: a server receives server equipment list request information sent by a virtual machine; responding to the server equipment list request information, the server returns the server equipment list response information to the virtual machine, wherein the server equipment list response information comprises information of USB equipment at the server side; the server receives an equipment loading command sent by the virtual machine, wherein the equipment loading command comprises equipment request information of the USB equipment at the server side; and responding to the equipment loading command, the server maps corresponding USB equipment in the equipment request information to the virtual machine. The USB equipment drive method and system provide a solution for the virtual machine to access the specific USB equipment at the server side and for a plurality of virtual machines to share the USB equipment.
