Abstract

Disclosed are a method and a system for measuring channel quality in a coordinated multi-point system. The coordinated multi-point system comprises multiple coordination points. The method comprises: a main coordination point in the multiple coordination points determining a channel state information reference signal configuration parameter; the multiple coordination points determining, according to the channel state information reference signal configuration parameter, subframes for sending channel state information reference signals, the subframes for sending the channel state information reference signals and determined by all the coordination points according to the channel state information reference signal configuration parameter being different from each other; and all the coordination points sending the channel state information reference signals on the determined subframes, so that a user equipment measures channel quality according to the channel state information reference signals. The user equipment can detect channel quality of corresponding channels according to CSI-RSs from different coordination points, so that the MIMO technology is no longer limited to a single cell and enables joint processing and coordination of multiple cells.
