The method includes: the server terminal writes target audio files into a buffer memory space according to music sharing requests transmitted by the clients; the server terminal transmits audio data in the buffer memory space to the clients; and the clients plays the received audio data online. By the method and the system for close-range music sharing, traditional music sharing way utilizing wireless communication to transmit the whole audio file is avoided, audio data in a server terminal buffer memory space can be received by one or more clients simultaneously by means of online sharing, the audio data can be played online, storage space of clients and time for transmitting audio files can be saved, and interactivity of music sharing is enhanced.
