Abstract

The invention discloses a portable terminal device which comprises a processing unit and a distance sensor arranged on the back side of the portable terminal device. The distance sensor is used for detecting distance change conditions between the back side of the portable terminal device and a surface of a supported object. The processing unit is used for judging whether the distance change conditions meet set conditions, and an alarm clock of the portable terminal device is controlled to be closed when the set conditions are met. The invention further discloses a method of the portable terminal device for closing the alarm clock. The alarm clock is controlled to be closed by detecting the distance change conditions between the back side of the portable terminal device and the surface of the supported object, and the operation of closing the alarm clock for users is simplified greatly.
