Abstract

The invention relates to a method for sawing heads and tails of titanium ingots and titanium alloy ingots produced by an electron beam (EB) furnace. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps: 1) selecting a corresponding sawing machine according to the length of the ingots produced by the EB furnace and configuring a water cooling device for the sawing machine; 2) selecting a corresponding alloy saw blade according to the produced titanium ingots and titanium alloy ingots and adding corresponding cutting liquid; 3) allocating and transporting the ingots to the sawing machine by using travelling crane clamp forceps and placing one end to be sawed off at the work position of the sawing machine; 4) determining the cutting size according to the actual shapes of the heads and the tails of the ingots and performing corresponding size marking so as to facilitate tool setting; and 5) after determining the size, fixing the ingots and directly cutting.
