Abstract

The invention discloses a method for pre-configuration management of an ONU (optical network unit) by an OLT (optical line terminal). The method includes establishing a virtual ONU, and loading management data structure of the virtual ONU; pre-configuring the virtual ONU and storing pre-configuration information of the virtual ONU; and when a real ONU goes online, issuing the pre-configuration information in batch for the real ONU. The invention further discloses a device for pre-configuration management of the ONU by the OLT. The device comprises an ONU virtual configuration module, an ONU virtual configuration storage module and an ONU remote communication module. Inconvenience in management and maintenance caused by configuration differentiation due to a large number of ONUs in a PON (passive optical network) is overcome by a pre-configuration method. The method and the device are simple to implement and efficient and can be used for all OLT devices.
