Embodiment Construction

[0051] turn to figure 1 , the overall configuration of the all-terrain vehicle (AVT) 100 will be described. It should be understood that ATV 100 may be another type of off-road vehicle, such as a recreational utility off-road vehicle, a side-by-side off-road vehicle, or a grass vehicle.

[0052] ATV 100 includes a frame (not shown) to which body 113 is mounted and an internal combustion engine (not shown) for powering the vehicle. Four wheels 114 are attached to the frame. Four wheels 114 have low pressure pneumatic tires 115 suitable for off-road conditions and traversing rough terrain. Two front wheels 114 are suspended from the frame by corresponding front suspension components (eg, double A-arm suspension system) (not shown), and two rear wheels 114 are suspended by corresponding rear suspension components (eg, rigid swingarm suspension system) (not shown) are suspended from the frame.

[0053]The ATV 100 additionally includes a straddle mount 118 mounted to the frame...

Abstract

An anchor comprises first, second and third flanges. A surface of the first flange facing the second flange defines a plane. A contour of the first flange projected onto the plane extending beyond a contour of the second flange projected onto the plane. A base connecting part includes the third flange and the second flange. An accessory connecting part operatively connected to the base connecting part includes the first flange. The third flange is movable relative to at least one of the first and second flanges between a first position and a second position. In the first position, a contour of the third flange projected onto the plane is contained within the contour of the second flange projected onto the plane. In the second position, the contour of the third flange projected onto the plane extends beyond the contour of the second flange projected onto the plane.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to an anchoring device for use in transporting items on a vehicle. Background technique [0002] Many vehicles are designed with cargo spaces and / or shelves on which various items are secured for transport. In many cases, items are secured to the shelf using bungee cords and ties whose ends are hooked in apertures in the shelf itself or around the outline of the shelf. [0003] However, some users experience difficulty when attaching or holding items on the rack. For example, when traveling over rough terrain, items are sometimes difficult to keep from sliding around on the shelf with bungee cords. Other times, the hook end of the cord or strap is too large to pass through the opening in the shelf. Additionally, bungee cords and ties tend to be cumbersome to use. When not in use, bungee cords and bundles must be stored elsewhere or attached to the shelf. [0004] The use of bungee cords and bundles with shel...
