Embodiment Construction

[0028] A regulator according to the invention has a generally cylindrical body 1 on which an inlet connection 2 and an outlet connection 3 are arranged radially. For connection to a compressed gas storage tank (not shown) via inlet connection 2, releasing gas through outlet connection 3 to a regulated pressure level lower than that of the inlet. The regulator comprises a manometer 4 at a first end, the dial 40 of which is arranged along the face of the cylinder. The regulator has at a second end opposite the first end a rotatable button 5 forming part of the adjustment means for controlling the pressure level of the depressurized gas.

[0029] The button 5 comprises a first circular groove 50 arranged near the junction with the main body 1 . A first flexible strip 51 of adhesive synthetic material is fastened to the bottom 500 of the first groove 50 . The scale 510 is engraved on the first flexible belt 51 by, for example, screen printing. The first band 51 is transparent, ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a compressed gas regulator comprising a body, an input coupling attached to the body for connecting the regulator to a compressed gas tank, an output coupling attached to the body for outputting the regulated gas, an expansion means for reducing the pressure of the gas coming from the input coupling at a predetermined pressure level towards the output coupling and an adjustment means mounted on the body and acting on the expansion means in order to determine the pressure level of the gas after expansion. The regulator comprises an adjustment means for adjusting the relative position of a scale and a reference mark, the scale and the reference mark being linked one to the body and the other to the adjustment means in order to mark the relative position of the adjustment means on the body. Moreover, the invention does not include means for providing a measured indication of the outlet pressure.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a gas regulator for a hand tool, and more particularly to a regulator for supplying gas to welding or oxy-fuel cutting equipment. The regulator is specially used on compressed gas cylinders, such as acetylene cylinders, oxygen cylinders, nitrogen cylinders, etc. Background technique [0002] Regulators are known to keep a gas at a constant pressure level during use and regulate it according to its use. For example, acetylene can be used for welding, in which case the supply gas is at a pressure of 0.2 bar to 0.5 bar, which is of concern. Acetylene gas can also be used for oxygen cutting. In this case, it is more preferable to provide the welding torch with a pressure of 0.5 bar to 1 bar. As for oxygen, oxygen at 1 bar to 1.5 bar is used for welding, and oxygen at 3 bar to 8 bar is used for oxygen cutting. [0003] A regulator usually consists of a high pressure chamber and a low pressure chamber separated by a valve....
