The invention discloses a unified-source network video system which comprises a transcoding module and a format adapting packaging converting module, wherein the transcoding module is arranged at a server side and used for transcoding the same video sources packaged and stored in different packaging formats to video sources stored in a unified standard packaging format; the format adapting packaging converting module is arranged at a client side and used for converting the standard packaging format of the received video sources into a packaging format capable of being played through a player of the client side.
