[0018] The disclosed embodiments may provide the ability to reduce substantially all of the power consumed by an electronic device when the electronic device is powered down. Systems and methods consistent with the disclosed embodiments provide power to a power mode selection receiving component, eg, a sensor that receives commands from an input device. The power mode selection receiving component receives commands independently of other components in the electronic device, thereby allowing one or more of the other components to not receive power when the power mode selection receiving component receives power.
