Abstract

The invention relates to a premix feed capable of reducing methane emission of cattle and sheep. The premix feed contains the following components by weight: 1.5-20.0 parts of a methane inhibitor, 5-15 parts of vitamin complex, 10-30 parts of mineral compound, 20-50 parts of sodium sulfate and 3-63.5 parts of a carrier. The premix feed involved in the invention employs green safe plant extracts rather than ionophore antibiotics or chemically synthesized electron acceptors to reduce methane emission; and considering from the perspective of resources in China, the premix feed mainly employs mulberry leaf flavonoid, which is abundant in resource and environment-friendly for extraction. The invention has the advantages of safety, practicality and effectiveness.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of ruminant breeding, in particular to a premixed feed capable of reducing methane emissions from cattle and sheep. Background technique [0002] A large number of studies have shown that the greenhouse effect of methane is 20-30 times that of carbon dioxide, and its impact on global warming accounts for 15%-20%. Ruminants account for 97% of global livestock methane emissions, and it is estimated that global methane emissions from cattle and sheep are increasing at an annual rate of 1%. In my country, the amount of methane emitted by animal gastrointestinal fermentation accounts for 29.7% of the total methane emissions. In addition, the emission of methane also causes a serious loss of energy in animal diets. In dairy cow production, usually 6%-10% of the total energy is converted into methane, which is emitted into the atmosphere in the form of belching. [0003] Therefore, reducing methane emissions from ruminants...
