The method comprises the steps that when application systems are closed, a deployment platform determines virtual machines related to the application systems according to the configuration information of the application systems; the deployment platform sends an indication message for closing the application systems to the virtual machines related to the application systems, wherein the indication message for closing the application systems is used for indicating the virtual machines related to the application systems to orderly close the application programs in the application systems. By means of the method and system for closing the application programs, the deployment platform indicates the virtual machines related to the application systems needing closing to orderly close the application programs in the application systems, and therefore the multiple application programs of the application systems deployed on the multiple virtual machines can be closed orderly.
