Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a system for establishing an L2TP tunnel. The method comprises that: a first device and a second device arranged on two ends of the tunnel acquire unified tunnel configuration parameters via message interaction; and the tunnel is established by the first device and the second device according to the unified tunnel configuration parameters. With application of the invention, problems in the related technology that configuration is low in timeliness and high in maintenance cost, and configuration errors are liable to occur due to commonly applied manual configuration in the configuration process of an LAC and an LNS are solved so that entire network device parameters are unified with configuration of only one device in the manual configuration process, and thus performance of the system is enhanced.
