A button type water valve with a self-switching-off function during water cut-off comprises a casing as well as a button type switch and a self-locking mechanism which are mounted in the casing, wherein the casing adopts a right-angled bent pipe structure and comprises a vertical pipeline section and a horizontal pipeline section, a port of the horizontal pipeline section is connected with a water inlet nozzle, and a waist part of the vertical pipeline section is connected with a water outlet nozzle; five irregular cavities which are mutually communicated are formed in the casing, a cavity I, a cavity II and a cavity III are formed in the vertical pipeline section of the casing in sequence, and a cavity IV and a cavity V are formed in the horizontal pipeline section of the casing; the button type switch is mounted in a button mounting duct as well as the cavity I, the cavity II and the cavity III; switching on or off is achieve through staggering or meshing of rotor teeth and stator tail teeth; and the self-locking mechanism is mounted in the cavity IV and the cavity V, the water inlet nozzle and the water outlet nozzle are open during normal water supply, and the water inlet nozzle is sealed by the self-locking mechanism during water cut-off.
