Embodiment Construction

[0027] Various embodiments will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0028] figure 1 is a diagram showing a cross-sectional structure of an optical storage medium according to an embodiment. In the embodiment, the optical storage medium is an optical disc 10 including a plurality of recording / reproducing layers. Information is recorded on the recording film in the optical disc 10 by a laser beam emitted by an optical pickup (OPU) (to be described later). The optical storage medium has a circular plan shape with a diameter of, for example, 120 mm. The effect of the optical storage medium according to the present embodiment does not depend on the planar shape. The optical storage medium may have, for example, an ellipse, a polygon or a combination thereof.

[0029] The optical disc 10 has a structure in which a guide layer 20 has guide grooves or pit trains for generating servo signals upon recording / reproduction and recording layers 21 (includin...

Abstract

The invention refers to an optical storage medium, an information recording apparatus, and an information recording method. According to one embodiment, an optical storage medium includes a guide layer, a recording layer group, and a guide layer-side intermediate layer. The recording layer group comprises a plurality of recording layers and a plurality of intermediate layers arranged between the plurality of recording layers. The guide layer-side intermediate layer is arranged between the guide layer and a first recording layer closest to the guide layer out of the plurality of recording layers. A thickness T1 of the guide layer-side intermediate layer does not match a sum S1 of thicknesses of arbitrary continuous intermediate layers comprised in the recording layer group.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application is based on and claims priority from Japanese Patent Application No. 2012-192526 filed on August 31, 2012, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The embodiments described herein mainly relate to an optical storage medium, an information recording device, and an information recording method. Background technique [0004] It is known that interlayer crosstalk occurs when reproducing information of a multilayer optical disc including a plurality of recording layers. For example, techniques for reducing crosstalk of light beams (usually blue light) used to reproduce recording layer information have been proposed. [0005] Multilayer optical discs are known to comprise a (dedicated) servo layer next to the recording layer. A need has arisen to reduce the crosstalk of the dedicated servo light (usually red light) used to reproduce the servo layer inform...
