The method comprises the following steps: sensing a vehicle which is positioned at the entrance of a parking lot and to be driven in through a sensor; sending a triggering signal to a video tape recorder when that the vehicle enters is detected; starting the video tape recorder after receiving the triggering signal from the sensor; taking a photo of the vehicle; sending the photo to a parking lot controller; performing similarity comparison for the vehicle photo and the photo in a vehicle photo bank by the parking lot controller after receiving the vehicle photo from the video tape recorder; determining whether the vehicle entered is the special vehicle; if so, determining the type of the special vehicle; sending a command to a road indicator light on the corresponding path to start after detecting that the vehicle entering the parking lot is the special vehicle of some type. According to the method and system, the technical means like vehicle position sensing and video recognizing are carried out to provide exclusive competence for the special vehicle; the identity of the special vehicle can be actively recognized by the entrance of the parking lot, and thus the special vehicle can be actively guided to enter the exclusive parking space.
