The invention discloses a
parking lot management system and method capable of automatically searching for free parking spaces. The
system comprises a read sensor, an induction card,
parking space occupying detectors, and a
parking lot controller, wherein the read sensor is used for transmitting an
excitation signal to a coming vehicle, receiving a response
signal of a
proximity card in the vehicle and transmitting the response
signal to the
parking lot controller; the induction card is used for receiving the
excitation signal sent by the read sensor when the vehicle passes through the sensing region of the read sensor, generating the response
signal and returning the response signal to the read sensor; the
parking space occupying detectors are arranged on the parking spaces respectively and used for detecting whether vehicles are parked on the corresponding parking spaces or not and transmitting the information whether the parking spaces are occupied or not to the parking lot controller; the
parking space controller is used for receiving the parking space occupying information sent by all the parking space occupying detectors, storing and updating the free parking space information in real time and displaying the free parking space information on an entrance screen. By means of the parking lot
management system and method, when a driver can know the parking space occupying condition of the parking lot when the driver drives into the parking lot, and the time spent in looking for the parking spaces is reduced.
