Benefits of technology

The inventor has two devices: one collects electrical power from another source while it vaporizes saltwater; this second device separates out both liquid and solid components during operation by means other than just reversely passing through them. This results in more efficient cleanup compared to traditional methods that require multiple steps like filtration or chemical treatment.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed in this patented design is that current methods used for producing cleaned sea-water have limitations with regard to efficiency or economy compared to traditional ways like evaporation ponds. This results from their size, complexity, power usage requirements, and environmental concerns associated therewith.

Abstract

The invention relates to a seawater desalting device which comprises a shell, an energy storage device, an energy collecting device, an electric heating device, a seawater inlet, a fresh water outlet and a reverse osmosis membrane, wherein the energy storage device is used for storing electric energy converted by the energy collecting device of the seawater desalting device; the energy collecting device further comprises a photovoltaic conversion device and a wind electricity conversion device; the electric heating device is arranged at the bottom of the shell, is electrically connected with the energy storage device and is heated by using electric energy of the energy storage device; the seawater inlet with a water inlet switch and the fresh water outlet with a water level sensor are formed at the upper and lower ends of the outer side of a seawater accommodating space in an opposite angle manner; and the reverse osmosis membrane is arranged in the middle part of the seawater accommodating space. By arranging the energy collecting device and the energy storage device, heating the electric heating device by using electric energy of the energy collecting device to evaporate fresh water and separating seawater from fresh water under the effect of the reverse osmosis membrane, the device is capable of not only fully utilizing sustainable energy sources and reducing the energy consumption for seawater desalination, but also ensuring the quality of seawater desalination.
