Indirect-direct evaporative cooling system operable from sustainable energy source

Improved means for powering and increasing evaporative cooling in an indirect-direct evaporative cooling (IDEC) apparatus are disclosed. Sustainable energy from solar energy mixed with grid power, when needed, power the IDEC device. These DC and AC power sources are seamlessly merged in a unique diode interconnect unit. Improved means for evaporative cooling include a rayon-based flocking on the wet side of molded plastic indirect evaporative cooling plates. Separate wet and dry passages through those plates are facilitated by a unique means for clamping the upper ends of the plates. These clamping means also add to the structural integrity of an array of plates so that the array can be inserted in and removed from a housing containing other operational components of the IDEC such as fan, direct cooling plates and water distribution means. Applicants IDEC utilizes improved porous piping that allows uniform and continuous distribution of water to all wet passages within both the indirect and direct stages of the IDEC. Operational controls for the system limit the potential water damage caused by overflow of water from the IDEC housing.

The invention discloses a method for producing sophorolipid through fermentation of a lignocellulose material. The method comprises the steps of: carrying out shaking table oscillation fermentation on hydrolysate of delignified xylose residue, xylose residue, corn straw, corn cob powder, grass meal and other biomass resources and single cell oil generated by the hydrolysate in the presence of Wickerhamiella domercqiae variant at 30+/-2 DEG C and 150-300 rpm to obtain fermentation liquid containing sophorolipid, and carrying out rough extraction on the fermentation liquid to obtain sophorolipid. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the lignocellulose saccharification liquid is used to replace the sugar required for producing the single cell oil and sophorolipid, and the single cell oil is used to replace a hydrophobic substrate required for producing sophorolipid, thus obtained sophorolipid is easy to separate and high in yield; the method has the characteristics of richand inexpensive raw materials, simple and convenient process and low cost; a great deal of biomass resources are utilized, and agricultural wastes are treated; and the method has important practical significance and important economic value in improving energy insufficiency condition in China, guaranteeing sustainable energy supply in China and alleviating energy crisis.

Preparation method and application of VN@WN nanoparticle with electrocatalysis function

The invention discloses a preparation method and application of a VN@WN nanoparticle with an electrocatalysis function. The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly, grinding a mixture of dicyandiamide, ammonium metavanadate and phosphotungstic acid, carrying out sieving with a 60-mesh sieve to obtain a mixture, putting the mixture into a porcelain boat, putting the porcelain boatinto a tubular atmosphere furnace, and respectively placing two furnace plugs at the two ends of a tube at an interval of 5 cm; introducing inert gas into the tubular atmosphere furnace to exhaust air in the tube, controlling the inner air pressure of the tube to be -1 MPa to 0 MPa, heating the tube to 700 DEG C to 900 DEG C at a heating rate of 10 DEG C/min, and maintaining the tube at the temperature for 120 min to 180 min; and carrying out cooling to obtain a sample and grinding the cooled sample in a mortar to obtain the VN@WN nanoparticle. The VN@WN nanoparticle with the electrocatalysisfunction prepared by using the preparation method is applied to the enhancement of hydrogen production activity. The VN@WN nanoparticle prepared by the method has an electrocatalytic function, can provide a clean and sustainable energy source for electrolysis of water, and is capable of eliminating the obstacle that a high-cost platinum-based material is widely applied to the industry. The electrocatalyst is simple in preparation process, good in hydrogen production performance and good in stability and circularity.
