Abstract

The invention provides a content sharing method and an access method of a digital media server and related devices. The content sharing method includes the steps that the DMS sends equipment description information to any control point, wherein the equipment description information includes the equipment type of the DMS, and the equipment type of the DMS is defined by a user; the DMS receives a content access request of first DLNA control points, wherein the first DLAN control points recognize the used-defined DMS as an access available DMS; the DMS shares requested content with the first DLAN control points. The invention further discloses the corresponding access method and the related devices. According to the content sharing method and the access method of the digital media server and the related devices, because the equipment type of the DMS is reported to be defined by the user and not all control points can recognize the DMS, only part of a DMC or DMP where the control points capable of recognizing the user-defined DMS are located can have access to the content of the DMS, and therefore the content of the DMS is only shared in part of the DMC or DMP, and the privacy of the content is protected.
