The controller detects the electric leakage fault and the arc fault of an AC input power supply through the electric leakage detecting circuit, the series arc detecting circuit and the parallel arc detecting circuit; and furthermore when a random fault is detected, the controller makes the switching circuit switch off an AC power supply line between the AC input power supply and an AC load, thereby performing fault protection. The electric leakage protecting device can realize the following functions on the electric power consumption equipment: live detection on a housing and a ground line, reverse-direction connection detection on a live line and the ground line, and detection protection for abnormities such as series arc and parallel arc. The electric leakage protecting device has advantages of realizing comprehensive protection for electric power consumption safety of the electric power consumption equipment, settling a problem of error power-off on the electric power consumption equipment caused by malfunction of an existing electric leakage protecting product, and remarkably improving operation reliability of the electric power consumption equipment.
