Abstract

The invention discloses a multi-gap resistive plate chamber detector. The multi-gap resistive plate chamber detector comprises a plurality of electrode plates, wherein the plurality of electrode plates are arranged at intervals along the up-down direction, air gaps exist between adjacent electrode plates, a plurality of resistive glasses are spliced to form each electrode plate, the interval between adjacent glasses is smaller or equal to 1 mm, and an insulating member is arranged between the adjacent glasses; an upper reading-out plate and a lower reading-out plate, wherein the plurality of electrode plates are clamped between the upper reading-out plate and the lower reading-out plate, upper surfaces of the resistive glasses close to the upper reading-out plate are provided with upper electrode layers, and lower surfaces of the resistive glasses close to the lower reading-out plate are provided with lower electrode layers; and an upper insulating layer and a lower insulating layer, wherein the upper insulating layer is clamped between the upper electrode layers and the upper reading-out plate, and the lower insulating layer is clamped between the lower electrode layers and the lower reading-out plate. The multi-gap resistive plate chamber detector provided by the embodiment of the invention has the advantages of large detection area, high applicability, low cost, small dead zone, high detection efficiency, small occupied space and the like.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of radiation detection, in particular to a multi-air-gap resistive plate chamber detector. Background technique [0002] Multi-gap resistive plate chamber detector (Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber, MRPC) is a new type of gas detector. MRPC plays an important role in large baryon collision experiments due to its high time resolution, high detection efficiency and low cost. It plays an important role and is widely used in the construction of large time-of-flight devices in high-energy physics and nuclear physics experiments. It was first developed by the LHC-ALICE experimental group of CERN in 1996 and used in the ALICE time-of-flight detector on the Large Hadron Collider LHC. In addition, the STAR time-of-flight detector on the relativistic heavy ion collider RHIC and the time-of-flight detector of the CBM experiment on the FAIR device all use MRPC. [0003] The main structure of MRPC is glass electrode, ...
