A new method for analyzing business flow behavior similarity based on Petri network relates to searching business flow behavior contour relation and imitating behavior contour relation and measuring behavior similarity. Similarity between a source model N1 and a target model N2 is analyzed. A business flow model is pretreated based on the basic theory of the Petri network, and transition containing same meaning is expressed by a same label. The relation between all transition and other transition in N1 and N2 is obtained based on behavior contour principles and imitating behavior principles, and eight similarities of N1 and N2 can be obtained. The behavior similarity of N1 and N2 is measured based on weight functions. The invention provides a new method for measuring business flow behavior similarity, the problem of effectively searching similarity models in business flow model is solved, the restriction of a conventional method in searching similarity models is eliminated, and time complexity of searching similarity model is reduced.
