Abstract

A database diagnostic system with an interface system is presented, which can be used to define, monitor and deploy database diagnostic tools. The interface system presents to the user a user interface for defining parameters, behavior and scheduling of the database diagnostic tool. The diagnostic tool executes on the target database, recording database parameters and status information. The interface system can present to the user a graphical user interface for assembling the diagnostic tool at least in part from a predefined set of reusable modules and scripts.
